Well, so we decided to FINALLY do something about that dirt pile that has been sitting in the yard for 8 months now. We got to work this weekend and started our front yard landscaping. Here is a picture or two of the progress. The first thing we did was the addition onto our left side flower bed. It used to be a few scraggly overgrown shrubs that went straight across our house. But with the house being so long and straight anyway-we decided to add a curved bed. It took a whole dumptruck full of dirt, 10 bales of pinestraw, 6 Indian Hawthorn, 5 Agapanthus and 6 miniture iris plants to halfway fill it up! We are also in the process of planting 10 new boxwood shrubs along the house. We will then transplant our 2 mature Hydrangeas from the back yard into the middle of the bed towards the back. The finishing touch will be the Japanese Maple tree that we are ordering for the front of the bed. Over the next week or two, we are also going to work on transplanting the existing monkey grass so that it goes around the border of the new bed. whew! just typing all this makes me tired! I am sure we are going to hurt in places we didn't know that we had all next week!

It looks great Tori! At least you picked a weekend with beautiful weather. Scott and I planted our front flower beds in 97 degree weather in July a couple of years ago. We'll never do that again.
What a beautiful job! It looks amazing.
I'll never forget charlie pulling out holly bushes from our front yard in Amberly with the wench on his jeep. Tee hee.
